I’m working on grant #4. You’d think I’d have this down to an art by now, especially the Partnership grants, but I just about went crazy tonight trying to finish my close grant papers for the textbooks. I started the evening spending a few hours reworking a camp grant for a couple thousand $ along with a couple other volunteers and the Grant Coordinator in the PC office, but as much work as that required/s, it was nothing compared to closing requirements. In my experience, writing the grant is usually pretty easy, but closing them is a whole different story. It is amazing what $0.81 can do to throw off a budget. I mean really, one day I withdrew money at an exchange rate of 7.930, then the next withdrawal was 7.935, and all of the sudden the 3 separate documents where I am making 3 separate calculations, some using exchange rates and some not, are about 40 UAH off. And then 120 UAH. And then 12 UAH. And then I was somehow -3 UAH. It got to the point that I could no longer sit in my chair while trying to reconcile that 81 cent difference, and I was so so so desperate for a run—which defines how antsy I’m feeling, cuse I rarely want that. Unfortunately, by that point it was nighttime and the “feels like” temp is around 21 degrees, so I settled for kicking my ass via workout video.
Also, the moon is abnormally close to Earth tonight and many women will be sick because of it. Or so I was told today. Maybe that explains my restlessness.
